Warning, unless something has changed, linked fields don't always link properly if something is already in the destination field so if you are linking a field within a button, I would highly recommend that you clear that field first (Set to value blank) and then link to it. The problem seems to occur when both fields begin with the same letter(s) or number(s). Marcia

You are in the medical records actually working WAY more than I am though Is this still something that you have noticed recently? I've never heard of it being an issue before. Thanks!

I've never heard of it being an issue before. Thanks! No. Checking Replace does not prevent the problem. It was still a problem several months ago and I doubt anything has changed. You have to have just the right conditions for it to happen and they know about it. As I said, it has something to do with the beginning being the same. Before I added an equals for the CL Brand BC and Diam, I used to link BC Brand OD to CL Brand OS. If "Biofinity" was in Brand OS and I changed Brand OD to "Biofinity Toric", Brand OS stayed Biofinity even though it was linked with Replace. There was also a situations with my race/ethnicity/language button that wouldn't overwrite one combo I can't remember. I checked that code 100 times and finally I just went through and cleared the fields first, wherever I remembered, so it wasn't a problem any more. But that is not an option for fields that are just linked. If you get one that doesn't overwrite, that's probably why. Marcia

It seems like I remember that being addressed and repaired a while back. I could be wrong, though. I think it was first brought to our attention by your race/ethnicity/language button.

Nope, I just checked it (with linked fields, not linking with the button) with CL Brand and it's still there (but the opposite of what I said). I entered Biofinity Toric into CL Brand OD on a new patient and it copied down to OS CL Brand like it should. Then I changed CL Brand OD to Biofinity and CL Brand OS stayed Biofinity Toric instead of changing to Biofinity. I also ran into linking to ARRA C/Ds not working again recently. That's been going on since I started but it seems a little different that the other linking. It (almost?) always happens with the OD Horizontal C/D and it just doesn't link, the ARRA field just stays blank. Marcia
