Hello, I would like for an update to be made if possible. When the same task is sent to multiple employees, any progress made on the task is not updated in all of the tasks sent. And if one person signs off on the task, it does not indicate to the other employees that the task has been taken care of. Can you please link the tasks together so that multiple employees can work together within the task to complete it and when finished it will disappear from all employees task list? Thanks RB

It would be nice to know if the Crystal pm world has actually taken into account my request.....? It does look like a couple of other users have liked your post, which is great!! Obviously this indicates other users like your motion to change or improve a certain aspect of the software. I would suggest also posting this in the "Requests" thread, which is where the Crystal PM development team would typically look for requests involving changes or additions to the software. The developers have outlined in the following post how giving a "thumbs up" on a certain post will give it increased credibility in their eyes... crystalpm.proboards.com/thread/49/read-firstI will also add that it is very common for a thread, such as this one, to only have other Crystal users comment on it. Forums like this one are an excellent tool for group interaction and the exchange of best practices, tips, and tricks we can all use to be more efficient. It has definitely been beneficial for me. That said, I understand it can be a bit frustrating to feel like the people at Crystal don't care about your post or request and if the issue warrants it I would suggest calling them and speaking to someone about it personally. I just would hate for you to stop using the forum because you don't always here back from a Crystal employee, which is going to happen often if you post, because there are some other legitimately beneficial reasons to be a part of a forum like this one.

Thank you Frisco Eye. I have already spoken with them and they directed me to post on forum about this.

Thanks RB May I make a suggestion - If there is a task anyone in the office can do, don't assign it to multiple employees. Leave it unassigned. This way, when it's complete, they sign off on the task and everyone can see it's been completed and crossed off the list. Here's an example: I'd use assign to multiple users for announcements or I need to know they have read the task individually and sign off on the task.

Hello Grace, Thank you for your reply but I wasn't aware that you could sign off an announcement. Also, my concern is not being addressed, maybe I'm not expressing myself clearly. Not all employees are capable of completing a task, therefore only the employees that can take care of it are assigned to it. Our request is that once one employee that was assigned that task completes it, for it to be signed off on all users accounts (linked tasks.) Would it be possible for somebody in Crystal programming to address this? Thank you, RB

I also found that deleting the task does not delete it from other users. So in effect, each person assigned to the task has to sign off on it even if only one person handled it. Hopefully more people will see your post and like it, so Crystal will improve this feature.

So again this is not directly a fix, however as a temp solution. In our office we each have our personal names listed on the task however we also have generic groups listed. For example, we have Technicians, Optical Department, Billing Department so if there is a task not for one specific person but for anyone who falls into these "groups" we are responsible to look not only at our individual names but our group task bin as well. This also helps when someone is covering a shift that may not normally be the one you would task. Four our office we sent tasks to techs however we have a floater who may be filling in and she is now able to see what needs to be handled according to what area she is covering.
SO, in short it may had an extra button for the ones being tasked as now they are responsible for looking at two drop downs however it generalizes the task to the group you need it to be addressed to and it would then show as signed off once it was completed and you can always look at the log to determine who completed it if needed.
I am in our billing dept and it works out great the only tasks we get individually are ones we are specifically working on and thing generic that all 3 of us in the dept. can do is sent to our 'Billing Dept' task bar.

Good suggestion, Jess, thanks for sharing. BTW, did you notice, we could be twins...?
