Just an update, a few bugs were discovered while at the conference last month. The developer is currently working to resolve these issues before we are able to submit the application to Apple for release through the App Store.

From dev: Just a quick update. I finished the update I wanted to make earlier this week. I'm packaging the built app, as well as the materials that go with it, along with the source code and the compiled server+webapp jar (the thing I showed you before).
It's on my agenda for later today, so I'll be able to send it to you sometime this weekend.

Quick update: I have sent a beta version to VEE with Mark for testing this weekend. If everything comes back okay, I will be submitting to Apple for approval next week or the week after. Not sure how long this will take to get through Apple, but hopefully not too long.

Mark came back from VEE saying the app was disconnecting after being left alone for an hour or so. I'm currently testing this today and will get back with the dev with my findings. I'll keep everyone here updated.

Just sent to developer: "So I’ve been sitting here all morning and have allowed the iPad to sit for a couple of hours, brought it up and everything was fine. Also restarted the iPad and restarted the app and did not have any issues… I think we may be good to go!"

Me to dev: Just checking to see where we're at on the submission
From dev: Sorry I didn't reach out sooner. My schedule has been slammed this past week. The app is on my task list over the next few days. Just have to spend a few hours getting the package together. Will email here this weekend or on Monday/Tuesday.

From dev: Just a quick update. I worked on wrapping up the app over the weekend and have it scheduled to finish this week. I mainly want to make sure it's fully tested on my end before submitting. I'll email you this week. Feel free to email me Friday morning if you don't hear from me.

From dev: Got the testing 90% complete. The last 10% I'm working on this afternoon, and then I'll archive everything up and send it your way later today or this weekend. We'll go through the process of submitting next week. Apple has been pretty quick as of late with their turn-around times, so I'd expect it to take no more than a few days. That's no guarantee, but I'd be surprised if it took longer.

From dev: Quick update. I'm sending the package to a buddy of mine that works at Apple. I've asked him to take a quick look at just let me know what he thinks in terms of approval at the App Store. I've known him for a long time and trust him, so he'll give me good feedback. He said he'll look at it today (Monday) or tomorrow and let me know.
My main interest is in the SMB/CIFS implementation and the attitude Apple will take with it. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from him. If everything is ok, then we can just submit it as-is.

From dev: Friend got back to me this past weekend. Aside from some minor suggestions, it looks good. What he suggested is under the hood, so no visible changes to the app. They're also very small.
I'm getting over being sick and am feeling 75% right now. I should be 100% again within the next couple of days, so I can finish it up sometime this week. I'll be in touch.

From dev: Can you install the latest final build of the app & confirm that it works for you? I just want to be 100% sure before submitting to Apple. Uninstall any previous build that you might have installed, just to make sure it's clean.
From me: Looks good to me! Lets get it done!
From dev: Great! I've marked the code as completed & frozen. Just did the final build as well. It's on my agenda for tomorrow afternoon/evening to assembly the deliverable package for you guys. Once you have that, we can submit to the App Store. I'll email you tomorrow or this weekend.

Update: at this point, it appears that the app is completed and our Apple distribution certificate has just been issued. From what I understand, we are getting everything ready to send in for approval. I will post more when I know more.

From dev: I've archived everything up and put it on my server for you to download. Please let me know when you've downloaded it so that I can remove the link.
I also created the App in your Apple Developer Account -> iTunes Connect. I also uploaded a build this morning, but Apple complained about a missing configuration key. You guys might have an email from their system saying that it's missing a key in Info.plist. The app thinks it needs permissions to the camera, which it doesn't. My fault, but not a big deal, since it just requires a rebuild and re-upload. The screenshots need to be re-adjusted, since I took them on my iPad2 and I need to take them on my iPad4.
As of right now, here's the TODO that's left:
I need you to review the App Submission form. Fill out as much as you can and verify the info that's in there now. I filled out the technical fields already. Anything that you don't know about, just ask me about. The remaining iPad4 screenshots need to be taken. I currently only have my iPad2 on my and can do the iPad4 shots tomorrow. Alternatively, if you like, you can take the screenshots and send them my way. We need 3-5 screenshots. I've attached the iPad2 screenshots for reference. I'll rebuild the app today or tomorrow with the correct Info.plist fields and reupload. Shouldn't take more than 30-60 minutes total.
Once the above is done, we can hit the Submit button. From there, it'll be anywhere from 7-14 days. Also, please don't panic if they reject or hold the App on the first attempt. It really depends on who gets assigned to review the app, but Apple has gotten better about communicating to us what's wrong so that I can take the chance to fix it and re-submit.
Looking forward to it. Let me know.
