I updated my software and changed from Microsoft Office 2007 to Microsoft Office 2016 on a Windows 7 platform. I installed the 32-bit version of Word 2016. Immediately I noted that creating letters from the Medical Records letter templates was much much slower and more time consuming than when I used Word 2007. I haven't tried using the 64-bit version of Word 2016. What has your experience been?

Not sure if this is helpful at all to the original poster, but we run Windows 10, MS Word 2013 32 bit... No issues what so ever as of yet

Microsoft has recently begun their cooperation with ax-dynamics.com/microsoft-dynamics-365 which should greatly improve their organisation. Give them some time, I'm sure it'll all get better.

I have an older version Word on one of my Windows 7 computers and I notice that it takes quite a while for the letter to initialize. It seems that the letter is transferred to Word one character at a time, as if Crystal is "typing" the letter.
Interestingly, if I move the Word window down so the only part that is showing is the title bar, it populates the document much faster and when I bring the window back up, the entire document has been transferred to Word. My guess is that is has something to do with how Word updates the physical screen as it takes each character into the document.

I can't see any issue with that. I believe that had you used a program that would be compatible or in direct relation to Microsoft's products there would be no such a problem. I know that I hadn't had any when I used to monitor digital transformation, a program that is developed by Microsoft's partner.
