Are only the notes entered on the ARRA tab considered for this measure, or are the notes entered by staff on the Patient>Notes page also counted towards fulfillment? If not, I'm a little concerned about making enough progress notes on the ARRA tab. For stage 2, because we are only using it for 3 months, I don't see how I am going to have 'progress notes' for 30% of the patients that I examine during that time period - what counts as a true 'progress note'?

I have asked developers to give us the ability to link notes from A/P page to the notes on the ARRA tab. I haven't heard if that is possible yet. If so, that would solve the problem, as I see it.

You can do that now. Go to EHR Settings-> Edit Medical Record Templates Go to the FID for the notes field on your A&P tab Check Link to Other Field Scroll to -13 in the fields # (all ARRA fields are negative) Check Replace IF you want to replace everything in the ARRA tab -OR- You can now put the ARRA notes field (-13) directly on your ARRA tab. All the ARRA fields are listed after the regular fields. The advantage of doing that instead of linking to the ARRA field is that they will always match. Sometimes the links don't link. More importantly, linking only goes one way so if you change the notes on the ARRA tab, it won't write back to the A&P tab. Or if you link and Replace you might inadvertantly delete something that was entered on the ARRA tab. The downside of replacing your current notes field on the A&P tab with the ARRA notes field is that you will lose the ability to see previous notes via the auto history. Long term I think it is better to have the actual ARRA fields on the tabs rather than linking other fields. I had fields linked to essentially all of the original ARRA fields so I will be editing my template to replace my linked fields with the actual ARRA fields. Marcia

I forgot to add, Yes, any notes on the notes page count. It is addressed in the lecture at the spring TOA meeting www.youtube.com/watch?v=okC_4rK34Bg&feature=youtu.be at 1:19.17 Marcia

There is a way to link a 1 line box but our current a/p notes box is a 4 line box which you can not link. Is there a way to link a 4 line box? I see your point in option two but would hate to lose the ability to see previous entries

I had to use two line boxes to can get scroll bars in fields that I thought had a good chance of overflowing but I only use the first field. Unfortunately, the autofill for F9s doesn't work in multi line boxes. I wish we could just have a one line box of any height with scroll bars. Marcia

I just wanted to be sure that what was in the video was correct - thanks.

Is there a way to have the online welcome form import information into the ARRA fields directly? We created fields in our regular tabs that receive online welcome form data and link those to ARRA fields because we wanted the the online data to flow through to ARRA. If online data can download directly to ARRA fields that would be better because we would add the ARRA fields to our regular tabs and it would flow both directions as you stated earlier.

That is on my to-do list for this weekend so I will let you know but it looks like it is possible. I generated a med history through Crystal to see if they showed up (they did) and what format they used. For ethnicity (FID -30), the generated html for the field was
<input type="text" name="mc_-30txt" style="display: none;" onblur="DDTEXTChange(this);" /><select name="mc_-30" size="1" onchange="DropDownChanged(this);" style="display: '';" >Marcia

This will need to go to nic or nic@crystalpm.com I'm pretty sure that it can be done but would require modifying your medical record and online forms to reflect the new ARRA fields.

Is there a way to have the online welcome form import information into the ARRA fields directly? Got a nice surprise when I went to edit the online forms. I had already done it last month and forgot. My website is coded differently from the Crystal generated form but it worked. The only potential problem is with height. Crystal limits the inches to 11 so if you enter 12 (or more), it displays 12 on the import screen but it converts to 11 when you actually import it. I'm sure there's a way to limit responses to under 12 but I'm not messing with it. I actually asked last week if they could take off the limit so we could potentially enter height in inches only, if desired. The BMI calculator works properly (until you hit enter and it changes the entry. FWIW, here's my form. Marcia
