The Crystal PM PDF Printer allows you to print anything, inside and outside of Crystal, directly to your patients’ files.
Some uses for the Crystal PM Printer are:
- Printing images from a camera
- Printing patient education from the web
- Saving faxes into a patient record
- Saving a copy of a prescription, invoice, or statement
To install the Crystal PM printer, click on (you may need to do this twice):
1. File
2. Print Options
3. Create Crystal PM PDF Printer
You'll get a pop up message stating that it may take up to 10 minutes to create. Just click OK to close out the box.
You’re now ready to test it.
Open up a test patient (Test, Test).
Choose a document on your computer, in Crystal, or on the web and click Print.
Select the Crystal PM Printer
You’ll get a pop up allowing you to enter a description of the file for the patient record.
Take a look at the patient files and you should see your document.

Wish I had heard about this a long time ago. It's a great feature! I would like to request the ability to print (i.e. invoices) twice - once to a printer, once to Crystal printer for patient's file. When I do a special header, I like to save it but I either have to scan it in or retype the special header to save pdf. Would make it much easier to select one printer, then the other.

Karen In the invoice the "Save to PDF" is the same function as printing to the Crystal PDF Printer. So you could used that option and then "Print" to your local printer for the patient's copy. Also, in the new version, when you print to the Crystal printer you will have the option to either just add to the patient file or add AND upload to their portal at the same time.

About that, I have called support and need a call back as soon as possible. Ran the update, now the doctor can't access his images added to exams. We need to get it fixed before we get too busy this afternoon.
Edit - I went in to see if your suggestion was viable for me - I do know about the save to PDF button, I was referring to printing a past due transaction invoice. There is no print to PDF there, and then I realized the past due transaction statement doesn't work very well anyway. It continues to show Ins Pending amounts when there are none. Very confusing to send out. So maybe I'll stick with the custom view that says PAST DUE, in which case the print to PDF button is fine. But I really think something needs to be done about the past due transactions statement.
Thanks, Karen
