We are currently having trouble tracking our trial lenses dispensed so that they can be re-ordered for stock. In our previous practice management software, our contact lens technician could pull a report that would print out all CL orders placed within a given time period. The doctor could notate in the order notes whether or not the trials need to be ordered or if they were dispensed and need to be ordered for stock. What are other offices doing to track orders? We are having a tough time getting used to this portion of the software. Thanks for the input!

We created a custom letter in the record section for technician to print on any encounter that they dispense trials out of stock to a patient. After printing the technician will drop the paper into a designated hanging wall box for contact specialist to order at the end of the day.
If we need to Order Trials we always use the 3rd CLRX spot as a designated trial order RX. The tech can click on the 3rd rx and rename it Trial, then go into a CL Order Page and print out for Contact Specialist to order.

I know this post is super old - I'm hoping that the more people use this forum the more people will use it (pun - but true)
We are a high volume CL practice and currently do not use the software to track inventory. We are transitioning from all paper to electronic notes and ordering (where we are now) Because our lens room is at the back of the practice, we were thinking of hanging a scanner at the door and simply having every lens that leaves the room be scanned out or back in if it is not used (the scanner can subtract as well). Same for revenue - order every day. Right now, we have a barcode label for every lens and simply look for the open slot (missing lens) and scan the related barcode. The syatem works fine but I am always looking for ways to make things more efficient (that's my job actually).
Anyone who is using Crystal for tracking inventory where it is working well - please chime in here. If you have a great system that is not PM based - By all means - share that too!

Does anyone know if there is a way to add more lines in the contact lens order for multiple rx orders?

Can you specify on what you mean by more lines? Thank you, Erica
