With OPTO there was an alert when you scheduled a pt and they already had that same type of exam.
Jon Smith has an exam on OCT 30, 2015 and he calls and wants to move it forward. Yes we go into Jon Smiths file and see that he has the exam on the 30th, but we get talking at set up the exact type of appt for him on the 21st of OCT. In opto it used to say "Jon Smith already has a EXOP exam would you like to move it to this date? (but it would not do this for like a CPE, so we could schedule his exam and one week f/u because they were different kind of appointments.) It would give a few options: Leave both appts as they are, cancel the other one and make this one, ect but in crystal if you forgot in the course of conversation to cancel the old one, or didn't go into the old one on the 30th and move that exact appt block you end up with two appts and a no show on the 30th. Or hopefully someone notices.
It is something we have now talked about at 2 morning meetings, but it seems like if a zillion year old OPTO software had it licked we could get an alert built in for the same thing? Or just the option of moving it and canceling the old one? It isnt an issue with our full timers so much as the part time folks that change. It would be nice to have this option added or if its already in there how do we turn it on?

We have been asking for this for years, not there yet. Even old Officemate would warn of multiple appointments. There are many reasons patients end up with multiple appts and duplicates, it's really embarrassing when it gets all the way through the system and you send them 2 reminder cards for their appointments! Make us look like a bunch of dummies!

Exactly! Now we are using solutions reach (we had Websystems3) and its great and sending a text AND email! So while it may not have been as much of an issue when we did our own calls for confirmation, now we look silly! It seems like it should be an easy thing to fix, also imporant and useful!
