Is there a way to attach a file to multiple patients without having to go through each patient record to attach them? I'm thinking VSP EOB's or batch reports from our billing center with a large list of patients would be so much more time friendly to be able to link all the patients on the report & attach at one time instead of having to go through each patient's file to attach separately.

I'm just curious. Does everyone attach the eob to the record? We scan all the EOBs to a paper Mgmt software called Paperport and will search there.

I do the same with ScanSnap Organizer, but on occasion I have attached an EOB to a patient. I might do that more if it were as easy as using the Organizer. Not a bad idea, really.

How often does anyone go back to look at the eob's. Once it is posted I am usually done. If I have the date that I posted payment, I can pull up either electronically or the paper copy ( not many of those today) from the file folder. Using gateway has made all of this a a sure lot easier than when we had paper eobs to file and find. Looking back, that was a nightmare. Personally- it isn't worth the effort matching the records and eobs.

I'm just curious. Does everyone attach the eob to the record? We scan all the EOBs to a paper Mgmt software called Paperport and will search there. i scan in eob's separate but filed in a central shared files from server. from here i organize and from there i use this to look up to see if i missed a check in reconciliation, patient issues, etc. I name files as initials of company, ck# and date. i run a search of check #'s if there is one saying paid but not reconciled. I use this organization in everyone of the lists to stay on top of invoices for supplies, petty cash, etc. and anyone in the office can view and use. It's also where I add training, frame catalogs in pdf formats, cheat sheets to passwords, etc. and my work schedules. it's so easy once you get started. I have eliminated filing cabinets...and it's backed up raid 4 (i think) and an external hard drive and off site. you can't add direct to pt page unless they are the ONLY name on the EOB...it's against HIPPA since pt has a right to ANYTHING in their files. I had to mention that to an employee. She was adding notes to accounts saying things that were not "professional" I let her know that "Difficult" is the same way or saying A-Hole but not as offensive it pt sees it.
