Occasionally a patient may have say a $10 credit on invoice dated 4/10/15 and is now seen on 1/11/16 and owes us $25 for this visit, when a payment is made I know there is a box pop up allowing you to select where $ can be shifted from one invoice to another. But is there a way to get the box when I want it in order to make a transfer?
For example they were seen on 2/12/14 had a credit due of $5.00 and on 2/20/15 balance due of $25 pt pays $20 and uses the $5 credit ... at the time balances were handled but credit used but not transferred to the invoice where money was still due this causes the AR to reflect that a balance due is over 120 days but in reality here were are in 2016 the pt is seen again and instantly the $180 exam reflects in the 120 days + when really its only been a week so its should reflect in the 30 day report. Is there a way to simply transfer these credits around on the same pt with out having to finagle things around??
Just seem like there should be a quick button to allow us to transfer credits so its not affecting the overall AR report and so the pt can see where the credit was applied to that office visit.

Of course, you may go to the invoice with the credit, click edit invoice and click patient transfer. You will see all invoices with outstanding balance on each invoice and transfer the credit from one to another.

Yes, to get the credit box, click "Edit Invoice" from the invoice that has the credit. Then click "Pat Transfer" button. This will open up the transfer credit box.

That's interesting, we just click on Make Payment, then save payment (without entering anything) and it brings the box up. Will have to try that. Thanks,
Karen

Thanks, Karen Yes, it will prompt automatically if you're posting more than the balance due on that invoice. This is the way if you have an outstanding credit and would like to apply to another invoice or a linked account.
