I just discovered this awesome tip while talking with Gina with CPM about collections.
After running a Patients Receivable Report, you can highlight and delete individuals from the report before printing the past due statements. You can also hold the Shift key down to select a range of people or hold the Ctrl key down while selecting individual people throughout the report. You can also sort the report by clicking the header.
For example, if you don't want to send a statement for balances less than $10, you can generate the report, click on the amount header, click on the first line item less than $10, hold the Shift key down and click on the last line item under $10 to highlight all of them, then hit the delete key to list only those with balances of $10+. We were printing individually from the patient billing screen or printing all and then removing ones we didn't want but then we can't automatically put a "Past Due sent" comment in the notes that way.
This could also be used to apply a different header message to some patients or you can run the report twice and add a finance charge to select people in one round and send the past due in another.
I checked and this also works for the Correspondence Report, which we use for recall. I'm not sure what other reports allow deletion of items.
Thanks Gina!
