Hi there!
Wondering if anyone has any tricks for changing the dates within the billing screen for multiple line items at once. It would be so great if we could highlight more than one line and edit the date it should be posted on. It can be such a hassle if you're posting a day or two behind!
Thanks! Melissa

If you post from the mass insurance check, you can set the posting date you want from there. I rarely back post a payment, since it changes the reports for the bookkeeper. She pulls the production report each day and matches to the bank deposit. I put the remit date on the memo field instead.

I don't like backdating the EFT deposits because, as you mentioned, it changes old reports, but if you don't backdate, it doesn't match the bank statement. How does the memo field help? Does the bookkeeper just use that to figure out what is going on if things aren't balancing? Marcia

We don't usually have a problem with the bank statement. As long as she can find the deposit on there, she's happy. If she can't match one, I usually have to go find it as it did not get posted. The memo field just helps if I need to go looking. Example: Blue Cross remits are available online on Monday, don't usually post until Thursday or Friday. I post the payment, the memo field tells us when to look for the deposit to hit the bank.

Thank you for your advice! I do use the mass insurance check and love that I can choose what day it posts payments on, however I'm referring to changing dates while posting within one patient's billing screen. For example, we will often give a 10% discount on lenses, and if I'm posting the day after I'll have to click on each discount line individually in order to change the date so it matches the rest of the invoice. If I could highlight more than one line and change the date as a group it would be so great!
Does that make sense to anyone?
