I'm wondering if there will be more updates to the clinical summary. Currently the clinical summary will only list and pring medication and allergy information for the patient. Is this acceptable and enough information to meet the Stage 2 clinical summary objective?
We have been selecting (checking) the Procedures Section, Problem List, Encounters Section, Social History Section & Vital Signs Section and THEN UNCHECKING any box below that is not today's date. This takes awhile to do but we are then sure it will meet Stage 2 objectives.
Any helpful advice would be appreciated.

I was just looking at the clinical summaries today also. It would be nice (if it would suffice to meet Stage 2) if Crystal could just have the clinical summaries default checked for the most recent visit date.

Agreed! I know that has been requested elsewhere on the forum, would like to also have the vital signs selectable by current date.

Does anyone have a response to questions about the Clinical Summary yet? No matter what items are checkmarked, all that prints are the medications and allergy info. No vital signs, diagnoses, etc. What is the point of checking what you want to print if it doesn't print?

Karen Almost the end of July and clinical summaries still print ONLY medications and the personal information (dob, ssn, etc) that the patient already knows unless you tell it to print ALL. Cannot print from sub-selections. It is still printing two copies at once too. I just did a test print to PDF and it made a pdf AND printed a hard copy! No reason the patient needs a paper handed them with their personal info on it and Clinical Summaries are useless to us at this point. No good for MU2. On version 4.0.33. We need a fix on this, guys.
Thanks, Karen

I figured out that after one of the recent updates when you hit "Print Summary" after the Clinical Summary is generated it will automatically send it to the printer. If you have File->Print Options->"Select Printer Everytime" selected, the print dialog box pops up prompting you to print (again). I've started hitting cancel on the popup and now only get one printout. For some reason Clinical Summary is excluded from "Select Printer Everytime" option even if a print job has been sent.

Good to know, thanks! I will try that, although the Clinical Summary really isn't useful if you have to print the summaries from the past 5 years to get today's info on it!!

We too would love to be able to customize what is checked as default on the clinical summaries, as the current defaults are quite bare. At the very least we would like to add the problem list and plan of care to the checked defaults. One day we would also like to be able to add the patient's finalized RX to the clinical summaries. Thank you!

Is there a way to speed up the process of uploading the Clinical Summary to the Portal? It takes almost a full minute for it to upload...time that we really don't have in the patient flow.

Kraig, I know there is a way for us to upload all medical records. Is there a way to do it for all clinical summaries also?
