iPad configuration and use instructions can be found here: www.crystalpm.com/2/iPad%20Configuration.pdf
**NOTE** If you are on a network domain, you may have issues connecting. You may need to contact your IT professional to assist in configuration.
1. What is the app used for?
- The app is specifically designed to collect patient signatures for generic documents, such as HIPAA, Insurance, etc... In Crystal, under your Patient - Additional Info tab, you will see 2 areas for signatures, Signature on File and HIPAA Sig on File. These are the only 2 areas the app will integrate to.
2. Can we use multiple documents?
- Yes. However, as stated above, there are only 2 areas in the program that will automatically import the documents. Selecting multiple documents will only require a single signature that is saved at the bottom of the file. The file will contain all documents with a single signature at the bottom.
3. Can the date be added with the signature?
- Unfortunately not. The file is date stamped, the date is noted in your Crystal database, and the date is placed in the Files section as well as the Additional Info section.
4. Where is the signature saved?
- The signature is saved in a .pdf file. When opened, you will see separate pages for the different forms the patient signs, and at the very bottom there is a separate page containing the signature. As everything is saved in a single file with the signature, a signature does not need to be placed on each separate form.
5. Can the app be modified?
- Again, unfortunately not. The app was created to perform a single, basic function. The development team at Crystal solely maintains the CrystalPM program. The iPad app was contracted out to a 3rd party development company. They will maintain the functionality of the app, but do not take requests to modify the app.
6. What iPad will the app work on?
- The app will work on any generation of iPad EXCEPT for the very first model.
7. Can this be used on an iPhone?
- No. It is iPad specific
8. Is there an Android or Windows version available?
- Not at this time. An Android version has been discussed, and, depending on the popularity of the iPad version, may be released at a later date.
9. Can the app connect to multiple computers?
- Technically, no. However, you can share the folder that the signatures are stored in across your network to import from other computers. We recommend contacting your IT professional for the appropriate configuration.
10. Can you have more than 1 iPad connected to a computer?
- Unfortunately not
11. I've followed all of the steps in the integration document, but it still won't connect. Can you help?
- We would be happy to assist! However, due to the fact that we cannot physically log on to the iPad, our remote abilities may be limited and you may be required to contact your IT professional for on-site assistance. Please note that the documentation was created by documenting EVERY step of setup, so most offices should be able to complete this with no assistance required.
**TROUBLESHOOTING**
Verify connection fails:
1. Go to Network and Sharing settings and turn on file and folder sharing for all users and turn off password protected sharing
2. If you are still having issues and you had an IT person configure your network, you may be using a SonicWall firewall. If this is the case, you will need to contact your IT professional that set this up to help make adjustments.
3. The following document was provided by an offices IT professional to assist in configuring the SonicWall firewall: crystalpm.com/support/sonicwall%20configuration%20to%20use%20with%20ipad%20for%20crystal%20patient%20signature.pdf
