I understand that we need to add in only one relationship on the ARRA tab to meet this objective. I have found that this family history info does not automatically transfer as previous data to a NEW record like the demographic info does. Is it possible to have this info transferred automatically so that we do not have to enter this each time a record is made?

I like your suggestion. I have recently started playing with that Family Hx box and didn't realize that that is what it does. Here are some of my initial thoughts: 1. I wonder if Crystal does enable that pull forward feature if that will count AGAIN for that meaningful use measure. Not sure if that would be an issue in skewing the Meaningful Use numbers or not; maybe not...just thinking out loud. 2. If Crystal is able to pull it forward then offices could likely get rid of other medical record boxes that ask the same questions and replace it with this new Family History Box. -For example, in the screen shot attachment I added here at our office we could eliminate the column of text boxes that ask whether any of the patient's family have Glaucoma, Mac. Degeneration, etc. This would be killing two birds with one stone. It would be getting the family history AND satisfying the measure. At this point in time even though the measure is only asking for 20% it still is redundant for us here at the office because we are filling in the info. twice. ---Anyone doing this differently? Also, not sure though how "clean" of a solution using this new Family History box as a replacement for the standard text boxes (like we are used to) would be, I still like the way those ol' standard text boxes look like. We'll see though. Thanks for the info. on that not pulling forward. Attachments:

Just spoke with James at CrystalPM and he will check into having family history info transfer automatically. Yeah!

Good to know. That wasn't listed in the update log. Marcia

Is it a live table like the meds and allergies or are you hitting the Prev Values button? I edited a prev exam on my test patient and entered a family history item but nothing shows up on the current ARRA tab, even after I hit the Prev Values button. Marcia

Is this working for you now, Marcia? You don't have to click on Previous Values button--the information just automatically appears like the medications do when we create a new record.
