This should be an easy one. We use the task function constantly. They usually refer to a patient and often require we refer to the patient record. Currently we can not navigate direct to the patient referenced in the task, instead we must leave task and search for the patient. How about a button on the task that would take you direct to the patient record of the patient referenced in the task?

I agree, if we go to the trouble of assigning a pt to a task it would be really nice if we could go to their record directly from that task. However, I'd really like some separate way of tracking pt tasks from other tasks and to have them accessible from within the medical records.
There are often times when I want to keep track of something for a patient. I might need to: finish the file; write a referral letter; wait for previous records or results from a referral or outside testing. I don't really want them intermingled with the other office tasks/reminders. People have made various workarounds for tracking whether records have been completed but they all have problems. I check a box on a summary tab when everything is done and then do a medical records report to confirm that that tab displays for all patients. But if I check it by mistake, unchecking it won't clear the tab display so I have to go and Change Saved Medical Record tabs. And if I've got a straggler I can't complete for some reason, I have to make a task reminding me that I'm waiting for XYZ.
There has to be a better way of tracking this stuff. I'm thinking of some kind of button function that we could click from both the patient or the records section and it would send the active patient to a tracking list. We could then add a comment and/or maybe choose from a list of default options that we commonly use. Similar to the task list, you could access it from the main menu and see a listing of the patients and comments but you could also click on one of them to go directly to that patient.

How about a button on the task that would take you direct to the patient record of the patient referenced in the task? Look for the function in the next release of the software. You can jump to the patient by double clicking on their name in the task reminder window.

It's been there for a long time now. From the Task section there is a link with the active pt's name that you can click to assign to that patient. From the task button within the med recs, you can see a list of task for that patient and if you click Create Task button at teh bottom, the task is set to the pt. When you open a task assigned to a pt, click the patient's name to go to that pt. The alet button in Medical Records does that too. Marcia

Where do you see the "Tasks" in the Records screen? I've seen the buttons flash up on occasion when looking at "Old Records" that are blank but have never seen them consistently. I know I've customized our template quite a bit, but the Crystal System buttons usually persists regardless of the records template changes.

Please make sure you have the latest version and in the lower left corner you should see an Alert and Task button. **edit** It appears your office is on version 4.2.12k. In that version there was a glitch where you could not see the buttons if the Crystal window was maximized taking up the entire screen. You should be able to see them when you make the window smaller. This has been fixed and will be available in the next update.
