Is there a way to pare down the choice of languages on the ARRA tab from ALL possible languages to the ten most common? We really don't need ALL the languages when 98% of patients will have English as the primary language. Before the update we were able to bang quickly through the ARRA tab: just whack "e" then "w" then "n" then "n" then "n" Now we have to scroll and pick. We can no longer just choose "e" for English. How do we fix this? thanks
We are not able to pare down the list on the ARRA tab. What we can do is have a language field on another tab within your medical record. As long as the language is listed exactly the same as in the ARRA tab, we can link the fields so that it will carry over to the ARRA tab. If you are familiar with editing medical records, here is how the text box is set up (with your choice of F9's of course) If this is something you would like us to add for you, please give us a call. Thanks! Erica

Kind of. If you use online forms, you can limit the options you make available there but they say the ARRA field has to have all options. You can link like Erica suggested but linking doesn't always work properly. I get around it by using buttons. Now you can place the actual ARRA fields directly on a med rec tab and use a button to set the value instead of adding a field with limited options and linking it to the corresponding ARRA field. But, instead of making language buttons, I created 4 buttons to fill combos of race, ethnicity and preferred language at once. I can always change an individual field if I need too but these combos work for the vast majority of MY patients. W/N/E sets White, Non Hispanic or Latino and English W/H/S sets White, Hispanic or Latino and Spanish A/N/E sets Asian, Non Hispanic or Latino and English B/N/E sets Black or African American,Non Hispanic or Latino and English
I exported the commands for the W/N/E button and attached it here. You can change the Action column to whatever value you want to set. Just make sure it exactly matches the ARRA option.
