I realize that it is a government website that is accessed to click on the medications but I have two questions.
1. Is there a way to list a CLASS of medications vs individual medications? For instance, you cannot list NSAIDs or "sporins" but rather have to list all the medications separately. 2. If patients are allergic to SULFA, you have to choose SULFER, which is technically not correct, but we do not have a choice. Comments?

I've wondered the same thing. There is a checkbox on the Medication function where you can check "Use as a representative Class" but I don't see the equivalent of that in the Allergy function. FWIW, I have been putting in sulfacetamide for sulfa allergies. I figure that should flag any sulfa drug. Marcia

To add my 2 cents, why can we not see the Brand name of a medicine as we selected it in the list, no matter what, it puts in the generic name and no one recognizes it. Very few patients (or staff!) know that Lansoprazole is Prevacid.

I'm not seeing that. If I chose the brand name it shows up as the brand name as long as I select the item under the Brands (where it just lists the Brand name) or Branded Drug or Pack sections (where it lists the brand name and ingredients). Marcia
