I've been updating my EHR template and noticed these two options for Prev bringing forward data. What is the difference between setting a field to a "Prev Value" vs a "Prev Field Value"? Marcia

Set to Prev Field Value is when you want a different field from a previous record (i.e. you want field 123 from 2/12/13 to populate to field 321 on today's date) and Set to Prev Value does not give you the option of a different field, so you would just be bringing previous field 123 to new field 123.

Thanks. I figured that out last night but it isn't working at least one place I have it. I have the exact same command on two different buttons and it works on one but not the other. If I change i the command to NOT replace, it works in both places. Marcia

Spoke too soon. Now one buttons isn't working either way, even deleting today's medical record and starting over. But the other button still works as long as I don't have it set to replace (with the asterisk before the data source field). Marcia

Spoke too soon again! I hadn't removed the replace asterisk from the one button that didn't work. So...the Set to Prev Field Value function doesn't appear to be working if it is set to replace. Marcia

Was this issue ever resolved? How does one incorporate an "=" button to.....let's say look at what the value was for the right eye field and pre-populate the left eye with the same value (whether numerical or text)? Or Let's say, look at Contact Lens Trial #1 and, upon command, pre-populate the fields in Contact Lens Trial #2 with the same values?

Was this issue ever resolved? Hmm...I don't know. Since it wasn't used where data was likely to be existing data, I just removed the asterisk and left it as an append. OK. I just added the asterisks back in and it appears to work correctly now. Marcia

Or Let's say, look at Contact Lens Trial #1 and, upon command, pre-populate the fields in Contact Lens Trial #2 with the same values? That's the Link to Field command. Enter the "source" FID in Field inside the purple box and enter the destination FID in teh Link to Field box. Check Replace if you want it to overwrite any data already there, otherwise it will append to it. I don't use rows so you're on your own for that. Are you just starting out or trying to pimp up a template you've been using? If you're just starting, check out the demo of my template www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmF7lq2LeEk . It's got a lot of bells and whistles already and I have a ton of documentation that goes with it. I have made a few changes since then but not many. Unfortunately I'm in the process of making a bunch of changes related to MU2 but I keep getting sidetracked. Also, you may want to try the alternative ARRA template on the Admin/Company/General Tab. I redesigned the tab and made everything more compact and a more logical layout (IMO). It used to all fit on the screen without scrolling. Unfortunately, it got messed up with the MU2 changes in the new version but I still prefer it to the original. Marcia
