Server version – moving from one server to another is a very simple process. Here are the steps. If you would like for us to handle this, we would be more than happy to oblige! **NOTE** If you are going to keep your old server as an active computer in the office, be sure to disable the MySQL service so your client computers won't accidentally connect (Start - Run - services.msc - MySQL - Stop - Disable) So the typical process is to back up the database which is typically located at C:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\data\easyopti. To verify the location, you can check C:\Windows\my.ini on the Datadir: line and this will show the correct location. On the new server: 1. Email info@crystalpm.com for download link for software. Be sure to include practice and provider name. Extract the files, open folder Server Client then right-click and run setup.exe as administrator. This will install Crystal along with MySQL. 2. Open port 3306 in the firewall 3. Stop the MySQL service 4. Replace C:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\data\easyopti with the old database. 5. Start MySQL 6. Open Crystal and go! If you want to move the database from the C: drive to the D: drive, please see: How to move your Crystal database to a different drive

Hi Just received our new dell server. is there something we have to do to before doing the crystal update? Can we do what needs to be done while the old server is still connected? How long would we be down if we have you help us do the transfer? Im afraid to do it myself and get all the clients to connect to the new server. Is someone available on Saturdays to help us if we close and do the switch then?
