How to Create a Microsoft Word Template.pdf (623.96 KB) Everything you wanted to know about creating a word template and more! UPDATE: Here is also a cheat sheet for creating word documents ~ It includes how to create check boxes, the allergy/medication grids, a shortcut (yay!) for medical record fields and the current patient information fields When you open the document you will need to click Yes on the SQL Prompt that comes up. MS Word Template File.docx (24.4 KB) If you only want a label to show up if there is information entered into a field - check out this document: Word merge labels.pdf (261.98 KB) After you have your letter template finalized you can upload it to the database for everybody to access. Go to Admin->MSWord->Add Document (Do NOT open the file and edit it from here! You will want to open the original template file, and re-add it) **If you have medical record fields in your template, you will only be able to send the information from Records While in the Records section, press Alt+0 or go to EHR Settings->Button Commands->Send to office document **To send basic patient info into your template Patient->Files->Send Office Document (Keep in mind if you have appointment info in your template, you will only be able to send the information into the template the same day as the appointment) **To send ALL patients from the schedule into the template Schedule->Send Office (you can ONLY do this the same day of the appointment)

Everything you wanted to know about creating a word template and more! At the very beginning of this document it says there is a "Generate Records Template File" button...where is this located? I have looked everywhere and can not find it. Wondering if maybe it's because I don't have access to that portion of Crystal.

Unfortunately Crystal PM is only compatible with Office 2003 and newer. I apologize for the inconvenience.

The merge fields only work with MS Word 2003 and above. You would need to update Word on that computer to use the mergefields.

Unfortunately Crystal PM is only compatible with Office 2003 and newer. I apologize for the inconvenience. You guys always mention 2003 and above but the message in Crystal says"MS Word 2002 and above". I think it went from 2000 to 2003 anyway but it would be nice if the warning was consistent and said "MS Word 2003 and above". Marcia

Ok so I'm all set up with MS Word 2013, I have removed the old version on MS Word. Now when I go to the generate template file button it says "Word can not be initiated. Please verify it is installed on this computer." How do I fix that?
