Every time I enter a CD greater that 0.4 I get the popup:
- Clinical Decision Support Cup to Disc ratio has been recorded as greater than 0.4. It is recommended to test for glaucoma. -
I, and the other docs in our practice, know when to test for glaucoma. It is driving me crazy to get the popup each time I input a H and V CD for each eye.
Is there a way to turn this off?

Every time I enter a CD greater that 0.4 I get the popup: Is there a way to turn this off? I believe it's required as part of their EHR certification. It's part of the clinical decision making for Meaningful Use. You can pick/create the criteria you want to use in Records/EHR Settings/ Page Options/Clinical Decision Support but I don't see that one to turn it off so it may be hard-coded. I don't know if they can make the Alert close automatically after a few seconds but that might make it more tolerable. If they can't get do anything I accidentally found a way around it in most cases. I use buttons to enter the C/D 90% of the time and that apparently avoids the MU flag on the C/D. I have buttons numbered 1-9 and .5 for under the right eye and the left eye. If I click the "4" button under the right eye, it sets the H&V C/D to ".4" OU. If I click the .5 button under the right eye it adds .5 to the current H&V CD values OU. IF I click the 6 button on the left eye, it only sets the H&V C/D on the left eye to 6. The .5 button under the left eye only adds .5 to the H&V C/D OS each time you click it. So... If the CD is .4/.4 OU, I click the 4 button under the right eye and all values are set to .4. If the C/D is .4/.4 OD and .65 /.65 OS, I click the 4 under the right (sets all to .4). Then I click the 6 under the left side (overwrites only the OS CD to .6/.6) and then the .5 button to only add .5 OS to give me the .65/.65 OS. With that method I only have to manually enter the C/D when the H and V values don't match. It still drives me crazy when it pops up but it doesn't happen often. Note, I did achieve MU1 for 2 years using this technique but decided my time (and sanity) was worth more that the reward/penalty for MU2 so I'm not doing it any more. If you are doing MU you may want to check with Crystal just to make sure the buttons won't mess up any MU calculations before trying that option. Here's a snip of my buttons. Marcia Attachments:
