I Spoke to Allscripts this am and they said that Crystal provides the fields and info in those fields to be populated in their system during an e-scribe. We would ask that Crystal would give any phone number--not just the home phone. Most of our patients have only a cell now. This forces us to enter the patient's cell number in the home phone field too! We would like to decrease key strokes please. Thank you

This feature was updated in the middle of last year to send the first available phone number to Allscripts if a preferred contact is not listed. Please make sure you are on the latest version (4.2.12k) and if you are still having issues please contact the support department, as it should be working.

I have found it easier to put the cell number in the home phone if it is their primary number. Some of the staff here still enter it into the cell field, and it does not populate the chief complaint correctly. There really is no reason to enter it twice if they use it as their home number.

Karen If you are using a patient contact service like Websystems3 you need to differentiate the home phone from the cell phone so they can get texts. Marcia
