I just have to say - the Crystal PM Printer is probably my favorite feature of Crystal! It is incredibly useful - if anyone is not familiar with it yet, set it up - it will make your life and job so much easier! Kudos, CPM, a million brownie points for coming up with it!

Karen Yes, it saves a lot of time, HOWEVER, you have to be careful and make sure the correct pt is active when you use it or you will upload the file to the wrong patient. That's not likely an issue when printing Crystal docs but when I'm using Word templates for letters, I have caught myself adding the doc to the wrong patient many times and I'm sure I've missed some. You won't realize it until you need the file and it isn't there. By then, it is too late to figure out what patient it was accidentally added to. I know the patient's name is listed on the Add File title bar but it's tiny and easily missed. It would be nice if there was a relatively unobtrusive warning as a last chance to keep me from screwing up. Maybe you could have a pop-up that says "Are you sure you want to add this file to pt XYZ" (name in large font) and highlight "Yes" so that hitting the enter key will accept it. People will probably just hit it automatically but, hopefully, they will at least see the wrong name flash before their eyes and can get that file to the correct file before it is lost, never to be found again. Also, it would really be nice if they could figure out a way to let us rename the file so they don't all have the same name. It just seems like a bad idea to have a bunch of files with identical names but it is particularly problematic when uploading files to the pt portal. Marcia

Copied from another post:
Heads Up: If you use the Crystal PM PDF printer on a Word doc (and maybe anything created outside Crystal), the document sometimes, but not always, gets this message appended to the footer : "You created this PDF from an application not licensed to print novaPDF printer (http://www.novapdf.com)"
I asked about it and Paul said he thinks that is related the the way they license the pdf printer and it didn't sound like it was something they can fix. I typically e-fax before using the Crystal PDF printer so it's only in my copy but that will be seen by anyone looking at the actual records.
