It would be very nice if we could "freeze" the last spot we looked at in the schedule - so often we have to jump into the patient's record or demographics while scheduling them, and when we click back into the schedule, it goes right back to today's date instead of the last selected doctor and date.

Let's pause and assume we did this. How many times would someone leave the schedule, look at something, come back and not realize that they were looking at next weeks schedule and think they don't have any appointments for the next few hours?
It is set to go back to a default setting so you always know where you are at. This is simply a "safety" feature.

FWIW, some offices open another copy of Crystal on the same computer and keep it open to the schedule page so they don't lose their spot if they need to look up something else.

Marcia Some of my staff have opened two copies of Crystal on the same computer and logged in with same user name on both copies in order to keep the schedule open at all times. When I saw this practice I requested they discontinue it as I thought it would eventually lead to software conflicts and or slow down the network; as I reflect on this further, I don't think I have adequate technical knowledge to know one way or the other. What does Kraig think about opening 2 copies of Crystal on the same computer with the same user name?

I have been running 2 and 3 copies of Crystal on my desktop since we started in 2010. I have never had a problem with it, in fact, it is probably the single most useful feature in Crystal. For us multi-taskers, it is essential to our productivity! We have had more instances of two people trying to access a record at the same time and making a mess of things, than we have ever had with one person having multiple sessions open. Go ahead and give it a try!

I think it's a great idea. The only time I've ever had an issue with this is one doctor would open a new Crystal for every patient, then at the end of the day go back a complete all of his medical records. So he would literally have 20 different sessions open at a time. Then he would enter data into the wrong chart and not be able to figure out what went wrong. That makes for a very bad day.

I do it all the time... and it honestly is a pain when I am working with a set day and many patients.. I use it for recalls and future appointments. There is many reasons I will be looking either forward or back on a set day at many patients and wish to just stay on that day till I am done with that day,
