I have downloaded the modified codes and while looking through some I see that codes that are "not billable" as in missing digits are included in this file.
With ICD-9 I had to manually go through and delete those codes that were not "billable" so that the doctors wouldn't use them. These were codes that when the excel file uploaded the 2nd or 3rd last digit was missing or deleted.
Please someone tell me that we can have a new file to download so that we do not have diagnosis codes such as:
H02. Other disorders of eyelid H55.0 Nystagmus
Perhaps I need to stress the urgency of this. Maybe other providers and/or billers have memorized which codes cannot be billed out but over here we have not. Once one of the doctors starts using H55.0 for Nystagmus she will continue to use it even when its incorrect. Then we will have to have Apex scrub the claims and I'll have to fix it etc.
We need the codes that are not specific enough out of file.

I agree with Jessica. Would be so much easier to remove those codes now before our deadline.

I spent time sometime before the deadline looking into and hiding codes i was either A.) NEVER going to need and B.) Checking to make sure any usual codes i did need were present and accounted for, and billable.
We have had no claims denied for incorrect coding, yet anyway, and it took way less time to go through the modified codes. Keep in mind the company was ready for ICD-10 before ANY other company was and some of the Non-billable codes were decided AFTER the modifications were made. (last minute). They did an amazing job getting us ready to the point that i barely had to change/learn a thing.
