we shouldn't have to go to math or the EOB to figure out what has not been paid. i.e. look at the invoice below. $150 is still owed by insurance but we have received a partial payment but you cannot tell what is paid and what is oustanding? nothing but crickets about this issue... If you use the Mass Insurance Check, you can itemize payments. Then double-click on the payment line of the invoice to see the detail. Looking at your pic, I can see the tests are not paid, should go to the medical ins, but you knew that, right? Alternately, you can double click the payment line and edit the line items there. I know this is not a fix for the sucky invoice problem, more like another issue. Karen

i second this! not just for patient but hard for even staff to understand what amount each service is paid by insurance and what amount of service is write off and what amount of each service is due to patient. this is hard to explain when it comes to non covered services Almost a year later. Are we any closer to an invoice update? This is crazy.

I'd like to see a Patient's receivable report similar to the insurance receivable report where one could put in a patient "mass insurance check" and itemize what billing codes the payment pays for. I like the ability to see the breakdown of the payments in the Edit Payment window, but it is often hard to figure out which billing codes remain unpaid when itemizing a patient payment (especially if it is only a partial payment or the payment is for past appointments and there are many appointments - I do vision therapy). Could the Transaction History section be formatted to show each billing code followed by a column for each of the following (as examples): total amount billed, Patient billed, insurance billed, patient receivable, insurance receivable, write off amount, amount due? When the amount due is equal to zero then the billing code is no longer in receivables. Just my two cents.

Normally we don't have this issue, but there are some of those patients who want to know why they still owe money. I can see it would be helpful to have that breakdown. You paid for A and half of B and still owe...Could be a good thing to have. Thanks for suggesting. Karen

It seems as though we're all just talking to a wall... The info is already in the system, it just needs to be reorganized and presented in such a way that staff and patients can understand what's going on at a glance. It's an issue that I'm sure a large portion of Crystal users would appreciate being addressed. I was just looking at another thread discussing the same topic, which was started 2/2014. Over 5 and 1/2 years without any significant progress. At the very least, please let us know we're heard, if this is something in the pipeline, and if so what sort of time frame we're looking at!

hello? this is not hard. it just needs to do writeoffs by line item so staff can explain when a copay or coinsurance is applied to a specific service/procedure when a payment is applied by each line item. it currently lumps everything together and is a guessing game which results in patients not trusting what they are being told and bills not being paid. we should not have to hunt down EOB's to explain details of liabilities.
pretty pretty please fix this. it's been over two years since this topic was started. this is such a big issue i am considering switching software.

Can we get the invoices to be line item detailed like this. I get daily phone calls about this and it's such a simple fix. This is the only practice management system I've worked with that doesn't do line item details like this. - Christina viewing invoices is by far subpar to other popular softwares(i.e. Officemate) where each payment made by the patient and insurance is itemized by specific CPT. in Cyrstal all the payments are thrown together and it is highly difficult to discern what payments go to specific CPTs. this really needs to be fixed so it is easy to interpret what the patient and/or insurance paid for and what has not been paid, etc. patients are always asking about these details and it is damn near impossible to figure out without getting the actual EOB out. i.e. CrystalPM 99204 200 92015 80 92250 95 patient payment 30 patient payment 50 global writeoff 35 global writeoff 50 global writeoff 31 insurance payment 105 insurance payment 0 insurance payment 64 i.e. Officemate 99204 200 patient payment 50 insurance payment 105
global writeoff 35 92015 80 patient payment 30 insurance payment 0
globalwriteoff 50 92250 95 insurance payment 64 global writeoff 31
