Is there any way that we can change the address on the entire family without having to go into each individual patient? What a chore!

If you change the primary linked, doesn't that change everyone, or does it only work that way when you first enter?

If you change the primary linked, doesn't that change everyone, or does it only work that way when you first enter? Does not change all. I have issues with linking anyway. Invariably link the wrong way and wipe out the address info in the wrong file. Crystal also links by default when money is transferred from one patient to another, for example, if BC does an adjustment and you take from patient a and apply to patient b. They become linked. I have brought this to CPM's attention, hope to see a fix for it soon. You can't unlink one patient from another. Have to clear all and start over.

I think the linking of patients together could be made better by using the existing "Import Online Patient" tool, or at least one similar to it.. The way that tool works is when you import paperwork filled out online, crystal will prompt you with a dialog box showing all of the fields that have changed and will let you edit which information gets overwritten and which information stays the same.. Something like this would help make sure the correct information is going to the correct place..

Been there done that...I always think it's the one way and I wipe put everyone, now I just cut and paste to save myself the headache. I agree with the existing area being able to utilize the link and change everyone but that would only work if EVERYONE filled out info online...I work for older people that have JUST NOW started to tell people about online and can ALMOST add an order in without help....after using system since 2013...but I digress...

Is there any way that we can change the address on the entire family without having to go into each individual patient? What a chore! Donna B If you have the "Enable Prompt For Updating of Linked Patients" box checked in Admin>>Company>>General you will get a popup box asking if you would like to update the linked accounts when you are changing demographic information in one of them.

Hi, I tried enabling that prompt, but it doesn't seem to be working. If I change the address in a linked test patient, no pop up appears. Can you please help me figure out how to make this work? Thank you!

Thank you! Did you close the client and then re-open it? That needs to be done for the changes in Admin to take place. I did enable the prompt, closed and reopened the client. I then changed the address info in one patient. When I clicked on the linked patients, Crystal enabled the changes to take place. It even color codes what is different in the records. I will play with it more before I think this does the trick.
