I would like to suggest that a Balance button be added on the payment page. Perhaps one for Pt. Balance one for Ins. Balance. Very often the patient pays the balance in full or I use this page for insurance because the MASS INS Payment is too cumbersome when you only have one or two payments to make.-

We do have a make payment button on the billing page where you can post patient and insurance payments. The mass insurance check feature is for you when you have a large check to post. Though I used the mass insurance check for everything because I run my insurance receivable in the morning every day and leave it open to post all checks that come in through out the day.
Also, you can apply one payment if the patient has multiple invoices out there with balance due on them. Make sure you go to Admin - Company - Billing and CMS tab - check prompt for transfer to other invoices (when balance is negative and check prompt for transfer for linked accounts (when balance is negative)
The linked accounts one is if a family of 4 comes in, you can post the total charge to one of the family members and you will have the option to apply to the rest of the family members at once.

If elliotth is referring to where you are actually entering the payment (whether it be - cash, check, ins. etc)that would be awesome.

I would like to see the balance by invoice when I go into Make Payment. Oft times I get in to post a payment or make an adjustment, just to forget my $$ amount because it shows the overall totals instead of the invoice totals there. I have to back out and see what the amount was on the invoice I was working!

I was referring to a balance button located on the payment page of the invoice. It would be useful for Patient payments AND for insurance payments. Other than for VSP checks, I find it is easier and quicker to make payments through the invoice than using the MASS check. It works for me.
