Sorry for the duplicate post - originally posted in records section.
We see many contact lens patients for a follow up to finalize the Contact Lens Rx. When we print the finalized Rx, we can set the Exam Date and Expiration Date (as well as the lens modality and number of lenses to be dispensed). The problem is none of this information is saved. If a patient returns to our office at a later date and asks for a copy of the prescription, the staff cannot print because all the above values will go back to default.
A solution could be to put the Exam Date, Expiration Date, Number of Contact Lenses to dispense, wearing time of contact lenses (modality), contact lens solution recommended, and other recommendations onto the Final Rx Tab. Have them default as they do now on the print window, but allow them to be saved, especially if the doctor changes them. That will allow the doctor to customize that Rx and it will be able to be re-printed in the future.
