I am a new user to Crystal PM. Bought it in the summer of 2014, but just started to really use it. I am currently just scheduling with it and printing out Rx's (Drug and Spec/CL). I was shown how to add new tabs to the existing template, but now I have over 20 tabs. How do I delete the tabs I don't use without screwing the program up? Also, once I get my exam template to the way I like it (tabs, format, etc)...is there any way I can print out exams for particular exam dates. I've been through a few vision insurance audits and some of them need exam for particular dates. In my old EHR, I could print off "9/25/12" exam and it would print out the History, Exam, and Assessment & Plan for 9/25/12. How do I do that with Crystal? Thanks in Advance!

Hello, be happy to help.
1. First, back up your existing template for safety reasons. Click on EHR -> import templates/med rec utility -> back up existing template -> Save.
2. To delete the tabs you don't want, click EHR settings -> Edit medical record templates -> you should see all the tabs on the top. Highlight one tab at a time and hit remove tab on the top left corner. When done, click stop editing and save changes to database.
3. To print a specific date's record - pull up the record you want then click on EHR settings -> Print to PDF.

Grace answered your question about printing records but be aware that every tab that you physically make an entry on (not data that appears on a tab through linking from another tab or as a duplicate of a field on another tab) is tracked as active by Crystal. When you print the medical records, all active (aka saved) tabs will print, one page for each tab. Also, only those tabs with active entries will be available for viewing in the future. And if you mistakenly enter data on a tab, it will still be saved, even if you delete the data. You can change the saved tabs for any given exam date by going to that exam and then EHR Settings/Record Information/ Change Saved Medical Record Tabs. On a side note, unless you are in a rush to start the EHR for MU or something like that, I would suggest that you take your time and do a lot of trial runs with your template with a variety of sample encounters routine, CL exam, medical exams, etc, and also test it for how it works for return exams to make sure you can easily access the info you need before you go live with a template. Once you commit to a template you will lose the ability to view and bring forward prev field values within the current med rec if you decide to change templates. Once you go live, keep a notebook at the station and write down any time that you don't have the info you need available and then edit your template so you have the info where you need it next time. Also write down any repeated combinations of actions that you take and make a button to do that. Good luck! Marcia
