Configure ICD-10
1. Make sure you are on the latest version of Crystal. 4.2.14C or newer.
a. Admin – Updates – Check for Updates Online
2. Download ICD-10 diagnosis codes
a. Admin – Diag Codes – ICD-10
i. Modified codes are “eyes only” or Download All. This can be changed later, if you wish.
3. Activate ICD-10 for use in the software (to be done on Thursday)
a. Admin – Company – Records – Use ICD10 Codes in Records
Helpful Utilities
Crystal has added 2 buttons to help ease the transition. These buttons can be found on the ARRA tab by default. You can see a video of the functionality and how to add to other areas of your template here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZUddbq3LkA&feature=youtu.be
A. Convert ICD10
a. This will help you convert ICD9 codes that have been entered into the diagnosis code fields in your record.
b. As far as the Convert button goes, we get our mapping list from CMS. It is mainly used as a guide on which codes are equivalent, but is definitely not a perfect solution. We do allow for a search of keywords which might be a better solution.
B. Code Finder
a. This will allow you to enter an ICD9 code or diagnosis description to help you select the appropriate code to use. In version 4.3 or above, double-clicking on the code will bring this into the first available diagnosis field in your record.

Support Recommendation
We are expecting a higher than normal call volume for the first week of ICD-10. There is a new support feature found in Crystal, under Support – Request Support. This will allow you to explain your question and request either a phone call or email response. Calls are taken in the order received. Email responses are usually the quickest way to get an answer to your question.
