Many of our tasks are the same tasks that needs to be done for different patients. For example, "call patient in 1 week to finalize c/l rx". Can you create a drop down "F9" menu so we can program in the most common tasks to save time from typing it all out again? I would think creating a "task" tab under the defaults menu would make sense.
thanks

I would like to see this as well, but I would love to see it taken a step further, allowing us to define a button that creates a task or alert with pre-defined parameters such as the text to print and the person to send the task to. I can't tell you how many tasks I've created which were exactly the same message sent to the same staff member. Assigning this task to a single button click would greatly increase efficiency in the exam room. The same is true for creating a letter... it would be great to assign a specific letter to a button to save multiple clicks and mouse maneuvers when creating a letter.
Taking this yet another step farther, a macro recorder could be used to automate this, or any other repetitive task. Once the macro is recorded, it could be assigned to a button which could be placed on a tab of the EHR.

On the topic of shortcuts... One of my biggest requests is programmable keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl + T to auto populate time in a text field or Ctrl + D for date. I know you can create buttons in the record for these, and I have, but I (and all other 40+ staff members at our office) find myself making notes elsewhere in the software all the time and have to type our dates and times.. I know it sounds petty, but we time and date stamp every single note made in our office because with so many people we have to be very meticulous about tracking who does what where inside of Crystal. I have probably already typed out 11/17/2016 25 times today and its only lunchtime!!

Great suggestions.
The F9 for tasks sounds similar to the Message Pal software I used to use for messaging in the office (until we couldn't use it with Win 10). It had 10(?) buttons that could be programmed with common messages. It was pretty convenient.

Also, assigning a task should be made easier by having a button to assign the task to the person who is currently logged into that station. The button should say "assign to current user" and this will automatically change the assigned person to the one that's logged in . When signing off, there should be an option for "current user" and this will change the sign off to the current user.

Somewhat along the same lines, it'd be nice to have color coded categories that we can filter by. For example, we sometimes dispense trials and tell the patient they can call to finalize if they're liking it or return if we need to adjust more. Would be nice to assign task to staff a week out to do a follow up call and see at a glance all those patients that are under the "Follow up calls" category.
Also, can you add the "Flag as urgent" check box when tasks are accessed through the records?
