How can I send Thank You letters to patients when they refer another patient? I have looked at the referral report but there is no option to send thank you letters to patients that have referred someone and I have tried creating a template but I don't see merge fields for the referring patient's address to sent them the letter.

If you create a Word template for your letter, save it in Admin>MS Word. Then you can go to the referring patient (or works for any patient) Files tab. The bottom list contains Send Office Document. Click that, select your template of choice and you will have your letter. Let me know if you need help setting up a template.

I was trying to create a letter that would include both the referring patient's and the referred patient's names. I don't know that Crystal has "merge fields" for these. Does it?

No, but since you are sending it to the 'referring' patient, you can use their full name field. you would need to fill in the referred patient name, but for Hipaa security, I think I would make it a general letter without specifically naming the 'referred' patient. Better safe than sorry. 'Thank you for your referral, we appreciate you!' kind of thing. Karen
