I received an email from google saying they'll be turning off access to less secure apps (non-Google apps that can access Google accounts with only a username and password (basic authentication) — starting June 15, 2024. In the past when I've turned off the less secure apps setting in my google workspace account, it has always made the recall emails we send with Gmail from the recall report in Crystal stop working. I wanted to check that this issue is being addressed before June 2024.
The email from google goes on to say: Access through basic authentication makes accounts more vulnerable to hijacking attempts. Moving forward, only apps that support a more modern and secure access method called OAuth will be able to access Google Workspace accounts.
