I have set up hundreds of different insurance plans under Admin-Insurance to allow Crystal to calculate all the patient charges and insurance payments/chargebacks for VSP, VBA, Davis, etc. I currently have stacks of forms that show the plan names, covered options, copays, etc. It would be very helpful to have a 'Files' button for each insurance plan that will allow us to scan these forms, and be able to view them not only on the Admin-Insurance field, but also on the Patient-Insurance page.
Also, how about a 'Rolodex' button up at the top of the main screen (near 'HELP') that shows a list of all employees, labs, frame manufacturers and insurance company names along with their phone numbers & addresses that we have loaded into Crystal so we can get rid of our paper rolodexes! (maybe have checkboxes to exclude some names)

It's not all in once place like you are requesting but, in case you didn't know, there is a place to store vendor info under the main Inventory menu item and Employee info is under Admin/Employees.

Yes, I know the info is all there, but it just takes many clicks to get to it.
In a similar request, we always indicate the patient's PCP in PATIENT-ADDITIONAL INFO-PROFESSIONAL REFERRAL so the name will show up in insurance claims. On occasion I want to contact the PCP, but to get the phone # I have to go to ADMIN-DEFAULTS-PATIENTS PAGE DEFAULTS-PROFESSIONAL REFERRAL-then the doc, then EDIT. Please put a button on the patient page that lets us see the PCP info!

So the doctor that is entered in additional info is listed on line 17 of the insurance claim? I never use that field so it's good to know. But doesn't it cause more harm than good if you always enter the PCP in there and it is entered on the claim? Or do you just enter the PCP there when they've actually referred the patient to you? I agree that there should be an easier way to enter and access the doctor info. It's really a database that is constantly changing, not a default. And it took me forever to realize that the doctor's office info was in there if you double clicked on the item. Personally, I've never understood why the use the Professional Referral field to tie to the doctor information that is used for letters, etc. That section seems to address how the patient first arrived at the practice: doctor, patient, website, ad, etc. Whereas a referring doctor or the PCP can change over time and may be different people. In my previous program, we had one field for tracking referrals where we selected from a list of pt sources and if "patient referral" was selected, it let us search for the patient and then the patient's name was entered in the field and it tracked who referred patients. No need for three different fields and it was only done once. I've requested a separate patient field for the PCP. We've been entering the PCP (along with their fax number) in Misc 2 and I pull that into the medical record so I know who the PCP was on the exam date. I then pull that into my diabetes report but it would be a lot better if there were an official PCP field where we could select the PCP from the doctor database or add it as a new entry if the name is not there. IMO, we also need to be able to put a doctor field on the med record for when we referral patients out or for referral reports. Right now, I have a field for referrals and I list my common referral and their fax numbers but I should be able to select the doctor and be able to pull their info into a letter. It would also be nice if we could somehow differentiate between a PCP and a doctor we're referring to so we don't have scroll through a jillion names. The only way I can get that now is if I (that I know of) is if I enter that doctor in the Professional Referral. Marcia

Honestly, It was easier to just have VSP auto calc. The others use a Plan matrix that is very simple to use to adjust co-pays without the headache of having to change something EVERY TIME a price changes in your billing page. We used Davis, Eyemed, Block Vision, etc. We just assign insurance and adjust co-pays. There were just too many different plans to get them all, or worse, pull the wrong one in by mistake and it calculate incorrectly... Just a thought
