There is a work-around that I came up with, you will need to have Outlook on your computer in order for it to work.
We can program a button on your medrec that will populate your patient portal address into an email. (There is not a way at this time to have the username/password to carry forward into the email)
First, you will want to go to Admin->Website and copy the URL of your portal website
In edit record mode, (EHR settings->Edit Medical Record Templates)
1. Click on the Add New Field button
2. Give the button a name
3. Change the type to Button
4. Switch the radio button from Field Action to Command, select Pre-Loaded Application & choose Email Health Record
5. Fill out the Email Info section
In the text box at the bottom, you can say something like "Please follow this URL to access your patient portal:
www.crystalpm.com/PatientPortal.jsp?crystalpmid=2023" Paste in your URL from earlier
Scroll to the bottom of the Edit Records button & click Save
Now we need to add the button to your medrec
Right click on a blank area of your medical record and select Add Field to Tab
Drag the button to it's final spot on your record
Click the Stop editing and save changes to database
Now, when you click the button, it will launch your Outlook.
It will pull the patient's email address from their file, click ok after you verify this is correct.
This is what the email will look like:
You can type in their username & password if you like or give it to them verbally.
