Is there any easier way of going in to a saved invoice and changing the method of payment. Right now we would have to go in and void the old payment then re-enter the new corrected payment and then going to the transaction history if we end up entering the new payment on a date that is after the saved date. We run into this issue pretty often when staff enters the wrong payment (ie cash instead of credit card, or mastercard instead of visa, etc). Would be nice if you can make it easier by just going into the saved invoice, click on the payment and just let us change the method of payment by a drop down of all the options of payment method and then save.

Yes you can edit without voiding payment. If you are on a bill go to edit invoice then you can click on your incorrect payment, that will open the edit payment detail box if you click on the drop down under payment type you can change your type there, once you make change make sure to click update payment or it will not save.

Note: you can edit the payment type and keep the date as lorie described above however if you change to a credit card and you have credit card options, I don't know of a way to get the credit card type to update in the financial reports. You can edit the description to match a description for the correct card but it still shows up under teh original card type. I think this was discussed in the past so there may be an answer but I don't remember it if there was. I also suspect that the same would hold true for other subcategories but I haven't tested it. yes it does let me change credit card to cash and vice versa but like Marcia said I have sub categories under credit card such as Visa, MC, Discover and I can't change it to a different credit card. Is there any way to do that?
