We are still having issues with Crystal and MS Word communicating since installing the new MS Word 2013. My question is, what exactly do we need to be using to be compatible with Crystal? We have had our IT guy come and look at our system and he believes what we have purchased and installed will not work. Do we have to have a specific MS Office program, or can we just update our MS Word like we have already done?

You could also try going to Add/Remove Programs - select MS Office then instead of Uninstall, select Change, then Repair. I've had this work several times in the past.

Unfortunately when we installed the new MS Word it deleted what we currently had, so I'm not able to try that. The Dr. is curious if we need to have a specific MS Office for Crystal to work, ie: Microsoft Office 365.

Any of them should be fine. Are you saying you don't have MS Word (or Office) in your Add/Remove Programs?
You might want to call in and get a tech involved.

Is there an easy way to have information from multiple sources print to a single page? Typically if you export to a Word document it add the data from each patient then create a new page and add the data. ie. if the Word Template were as below:
Custom Report for Patient List «Full_Name» «DOB» «Last_Visit_Date»
I want it to list: Custom Report for Patient List John Doe 1/1/1980 5/31/2015 Jane Doe 12/31/1980 6/01/2015 Jimmy Doe 6/6/2005 6/01/2015
Instead of: Custom Report for Patient List John Doe 1/1/1980 5/31/2015
<page break>
Custom Report for Patient List Jane Doe 12/31/1980 6/01/2015
<page break>
Custom Report for Patient List Jimmy Doe 6/6/2005 6/01/2015
I managed to get a report to stay on one page once, but have been unable to duplicate the results...

You can try the tag «Next Record» in between patients, I attached a word doc for you to copy/paste into your template since it has the merge information attached. Next Record.docx (12.15 KB)

I'm having issues getting the Word templates to populate with the patient's record information from the exams. Their demographics are transferring fine. Not sure whats the problem.

Hard to tell what the problem could be over the forum. You can call us at 800-308-7169 x1 or go to Support->Request Support to create a ticket, we can take a look at it. Erica

When creating word documents, is there anyway (or an easy way) to get the word document that's created to be uploaded into the patient's Crystal files database? Thanks!

You will want to use the CrystalPM PDF Printer: Thank you, Erica Heads Up: If you use the Crystal PM PDF printer on a Word doc (and maybe anything created outside Crystal), the document sometimes, but not always, gets this message appended to the footer : "You created this PDF from an application not licensed to print novaPDF printer (http://www.novapdf.com)" I asked about it and Paul said he thinks that is related the the way they license the pdf printer and it didn't sound like it was something they can fix. I typically e-fax before using the Crystal PDF printer so it's only in my copy but that will be seen by anyone looking at the actual records. Marcia Attachments:

I have just created a template for our records but I am trying to figure out a way to add the date of services and cannot find a way to connect it and print that with the records. Is there a way to incorporate the date of service into our templates?
