I would like to recommend putting holidays into the scheduler/appointment book. Possibly making the day shaded when looking at monthly view? And some kind of notification when looking at the day? A header of sort to say it is a holiday?

How about just the ability to designate days as holidays each office partakes in? We usually just block off the day with an appointment "No Patient" and add in the notes the holiday and if we will be closed or not. This only shows up in the weekly view.

That's what we do too, but it requires checking a 'real' calendar to see the holidays. I suspect that's why we had to work this past Friday, the boss didn't realized it was the Federal Holiday (surely he wouldn't have made us work otherwise, right?) Just would be nice to see it in there when we go thru the calendar to block off those days.
