I noticed with the new update the clinical summary is printing on multiple pages (as opposed to the old version it was only printed on one page). Can we change the font somehow so it only prints on one page?

Regarding the Clinical Summary - a positive note, it looks 100% more professional now. A question, is it editable? Do we have to show every visit since the beginning of time per Government standards?

Here are my questions for Patient Files Tab Online Portal button When the Documents radio button is selected the Online Files display. The Default button creates a user name in the format Last name_First name and a password of the acct#_8 digit dob. The Add File button opens the Share Files Online window where you can click on the Find button to browse to the desired file to upload, enter a description so the patient knows what the file is and then select Upload File button to upload it. I assume checking This is a patient-specific education resource tracks it for meaningful use. Files can also be removed by highlighting a file and selecting the Remove File button.
Why is there an Upload File Date option?
Assign System File Tab- How does this work? Where do these files come from?
Assign File From Other Patient Tab- how does this work? Why does it not have the option to check patient-specific education resource?
Where is the patient specific education resource registered since this is not necessarily associated with an exam?
When the Authorized Web User radio button is selected, there is a place to enter additional usernames, password and notes. I’m thinking the notes are to let us know who the user is, why they have access, how long??? Do ALL users have access to ALL the online docs for this patient?
When Messages radio button is selected a Messages window displays with Date and Text columns and a Send Message button but where/how do we enter the message to be sent? Once sent how does the patient access it? When I log into the patient portal, I just see links to documents. I didn’t see anything about messages.
Add Printed button- This doesn't seem to do anything. KizerOpt also asked about this.
Show Tasks button- This lists all the tasks that have been assigned to this patient. I guess that is OK but the problem is that we’re already on the pt by then. What we need is a way to access the patient directly from the Task menu (I personally would prefer a separate Task function specifically for patients, but I digress) and a way to assign a task to a patient from within the Patient or Records section instead of going to Task, looking up the patient and assigning the task and then having to look up the patient again when we want to work on whatever the task involves.

Why is there an Upload File Date option? This option is in case you're uploading a record from a previous date, you can re-date the file to make it easier for tracking/sorting.
Assign System File Tab- How does this work? Where do these files come from? Admin - Website. These are typically going to be files that you disperse on a regular basis that carry no patient info, i.e. educational documents.
Assign File From Other Patient Tab- how does this work? Why does it not have the option to check patient-specific education resource? Find the correct patient, choose the file, click "Assign File." I believe we will be adding a checkbox to this, but for now it will need to be selected in the patient ARRA section.
You are correct! And yes, ALL authorized users have access to ALL online documents.
When Messages radio button is selected a Messages window displays with Date and Text columns and a Send Message button but where/how do we enter the message to be sent? Once sent how does the patient access it? When I log into the patient portal, I just see links to documents. I didn’t see anything about messages. When you select Messages and click on "Send Message" another window will open where you will enter the message to send. The patient will get an email with a link for them to click that will take them to the appropriate website where they will enter their username and password. In this release the email is sending you to the wrong link, it will be fixed in the next version hopefully due out tonight.
Add Printed button- This doesn't seem to do anything. KizerOpt also asked about this. So you have a new feature to add a Crystal PM PDF printer (File - Printer Options). This technically is not a printer but more of a PDF creator. When you print using the Crystal PM PDF Printer the document will save to a temporary folder. Selecting Add Printed will select this file for upload.
I'm with you on this and I've been discussing it with the development staff.

Thanks for the response. A couple of follow-ups: Does the Send Message option require subscription to the email service?
There is a Check for Web Messages button on the Tasks page. I don't see anywhere in the patient portal online that mentions messages. Are these replies to the messages that we send via the online portal area?
So the Add Printed button works like when you scan a file and hit the Add Scanned File button, and it opens the correct folder automatically, correct? Maybe changing the button name to Add PDF would be a little clearer? And that's why when I selected the Save to PDF button in printed to PDF it didn't ask me to name the file or where I wanted to store it so I didn't know where the file was. Where do I find the PDF file if I just want to email it?
How about adding the Update Date function to the Add File function for the same reasons?

Thanks for the response. A couple of follow-ups: Does the Send Message option require subscription to the email service? No, this works off of your non-Direct email. There is a Check for Web Messages button on the Tasks page. I don't see anywhere in the patient portal online that mentions messages. Are these replies to the messages that we send via the online portal area? Exactly! If there is a message this will appear in your task list in yellow(ish)...So the Add Printed button works like when you scan a file and hit the Add Scanned File button, and it opens the correct folder automatically, correct? Maybe changing the button name to Add PDF would be a little clearer? And that's why when I selected the Save to PDF button in printed to PDF it didn't ask me to name the file or where I wanted to store it so I didn't know where the file was. Where do I find the PDF file if I just want to email it? I will take the name change recommendation to the developers. The Crystal PDF Printer is not designed to replace your current PDF printer software (Adobe, CutePDF, etc...). I would continue using those when you want to save a PDF document to the computer. If you do want to find the PDF from Crystal PDF, it will be located in the Crystal PM program folder under Temp.
How about adding the Update Date function to the Add File function for the same reasons? This is something for the request section.Marcia

The Save to PDF button on the invoice seems different now (on 4.0.9). I just tried it again and it now pops up a Crystal PM Printer Save PDF File AS window where I can select the file location. But when I save it and go to Patient->Files tab->Add Printed button it says no documents found even if I save it in the Crystal PM temp folder. Marcia

I got the same this as Marcia. It opens a folder to save the pdf, but it is not a folder I want to save to. I checked and Crystal says the pdf printer is installed. Where will this be used, other than saving invoices? Karen

We've noticed that on the clinical summaries , on the ARRA tab - there is a tree for which items to include - is there a default that can be set for all patients. We had one that when we went to print the summary, about half of the boxes "unchecked" itself.

How about a button to select just activity for the date of service. Unless you take the time to deselect items, you get data from the beginning of time. One patient yesterday, 15 pages, with diag codes, etc back to 2002.

Amen! We haven't been printing the clinical summaries this week because of that! It either prints a book, or takes forever to deselect what you don't want.. How is that a summary of today's visit? And we sure don't want to give them the same thing every visit! Please give us a way to narrow it down (easily) to today's visit only. Karen

Thanks, Kraig, for the improvement to the Clinical Summary, now to make it great, how about giving us the ability to select our 'default' choices, and modify on the fly when printing. would save some time when checking out a patient. Pretty please? Karen

Is there a way to de-select the red ink when printing the 02/12? We don't have a color printer and when trying to print the red seems to make it look fuzzy.
