Used an existing Symbol scanner that e-dr provided years ago to implement a scanner/Inventory strategy in one office recently. It won't be complete until they receive barcodes for all their Revenue AND trials stock. Remember that having barcodes on the product itself may not be enough because when you are out of stock of a particular item - it won't be there to scan a barcode from - so you have to have properly labeled barcodes near the product to scan when you are checking stock or doing inventory. The newer display racks (for trials) are all coming through with barcodes on the trays but that doesn't help for Revenue products, multipacks, year supplies etc. If kept in a cabinet I recommend having barcodes on the inside of the door, labeled low to high powers (bottom to top) so you can just scan the "missing" products as you go.
